After a mere four months of recruiting and campaigning, Putting Hartlepool First fielded 19 candidates in the 2012 local election, polling 9273 votes from a total of 47336. That's 20% of the total votes cast!
With two years to go to the 2014 elections we are already half way to the level of support needed to change the face of local politics. This is a fantastic start for our party and a tremendous platform on which to build.
The dust has now settled over the Hartlepool Council elections and the work of the Boundary Commission has paid dividends. The political map of Hartlepool has once aging been washed red!
The Tories have been pushed back into their rural heartland and their enclave behind the park. It’s probably going to be a generation before the Tory Party sees more than three councillors in the Hartlepool Council chamber.
Hartlepool Council is now a Lib-Dem free zone. They have disappeared completely and will probably never be seen again and the troublesome tendency of the Ancient Borough of Hartlepool to reject the Labour rose has been swamped by the Labour tide from Stranton. .......
